Monday Morning Meet Your Leaders – Mary Pat Angelini
Mary Pat Angelini, MPA
Chief Executive Officer
Preferred Behavioral Health Group
1. What is one of the most important qualities of a great leader?
I believe that honesty, integrity and personal accountability are at the core of every great leader. These traits are essential and necessary. We have all seen “leaders” come and go in our community – most likely the fleeting ones lacked these qualities. I also believe that a person in a leadership position has the responsibility of being role model to the younger generation in their sphere of influence. Another essential leadership element is summed up in my favorite quote by President Ronald Reagan who said, “There’s no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn’t mind who gets the credit.”
2. How does your organization take our community to the next level?
Preferred Behavioral Health Group’s (PBHG) mission is to deliver quality and compassionate behavioral health services to individuals and families all the time. We know that individuals, families, and communities are more than just their symptoms or their challenges – they have goals, dreams, and more; and we provide behavioral healthcare that respects the whole person, the whole family, and the whole community. Our 70 different programs serve approximately 30,000 men, women and children annually!
3. What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Nothing that is too strenuous! 😊 I enjoy reading. Pete Hamill, Anna Quindlen and Peggy Noonan are my favorite authors.
4. What is your favorite food/recipe and why?
I make a mean peanut pie with a chocolate crust…full of calories but because it is so light and fluffy, I’ve tricked myself into believing I’m indulging in a healthy dessert!
