Monday Morning Meet Your Leaders – Billy Cardone
Co-Founder and Executive Director
Exit 82 Theatre
1. What is one of the most important qualities of a great leader?
One of the most important qualities of a leader is someone who is not afraid to lead by example and not too proud to get their hands dirty. No matter how long someone has been working for a cause, their passion for their mission should drive them to all levels of work. Telling someone what to do is a boss but doing it first and alongside your team is a leader.
2. How does your organization take our community to the next level?
Exit 82 has grown to be an arts organization that focuses on revitalizing Downtown Toms River. Through the programming in our new immersive theatre we are looking to bring more people to downtown and to connect them with the amazing local businesses to create a fun night out. We also have educational programming for young artists from ages 6 to 23 so they can get more exposure to the arts and be a part of a supportive creative community!
3. What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
During the day I do fundraising for Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation and after hours I run Exit 82. When I can find spare time I love going into New York City to see a show! When I am not in NY, you can usually find me at Artisans bar for a drink or on my couch with Netflix.
4. What is your favorite food/recipe and why?
My sister is one of the best cooks (because she learned from my mom) and she makes an amazing Stuffed Chicken Cordon Bleu that makes for a perfect comfort food!
