When life gives you lemons…start a Lemonade Day!  Toms River’s Second Annual Lemonade Day is July 9, 2016.  Lemonade Day is a fun learning experience that teaches our youth how to build a business plan and make money with their own lemonade stand.  Once their business plan is complete, they will tell us how they developed their unique selling proposition and how they will spend, save and share their profits.

This year we’ve sweetened the deal and added a chance to win $10,000 with the Engage Toms River Lemonade Day Video Business Plan Challenge.  The contest is open to children grades 3rd through 6th, living in the Greater Toms River Region* (list of eligible schools below) who have registered for Lemonade Day. You can register online at https://tomsriver.lemonadeday.org.  The child can work individually or with a team of children.

How to win $10,000:

  • Each child will create a 3 to 5 minute video documenting the entire process.
  • The child must be present on the video and must be the one explaining their vision for their lemonade stand.
  • They should talk about their unique selling proposition, explain their thought process and how they are going to spend, save and share their profit.
  • They do not have to have the lemonade stand completed, we just want to see their entrepreneurial thought process.
  • Their lemonade stand concept could be represented with a drawing, Photoshop or whatever tool they want to use to represent their finished lemonade stand.
  • End your video with #WeAreTR
  • Send your UNCOMPRESSED video file to engagetomsriver@gmail.com.
