The Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation is proud to sponsor the Toms River Regional School District’s groundbreaking educational and community event.
The Jersey Shore Makerfest will be a celebration of creativity and imagination that is a workshop, science lab, county fair, and art exhibition rolled into one. At its center will be a makerspace where attendees can experience making in a hands-on environment. We are inviting students, educators, family and community members who consider themselves makers to join us in a day of sharing, learning and fun.
The Jersey Shore Makerfest will be held in the 4000-seat Pine Belt Arena and in classrooms in the connected high school.
Surrounding the central makerspace will be dozens of tables, booths and stages organized by students, educators, and community members who consider themselves makers and are inspired to share.
You’ll experience makers from around the state, from public schools to Rutgers University, from cooks to floral designers, and from jewelers to mechanics.
Machines and circuits will mix with bikes and sculptures. You may hear music played on recycled cans, see an LED-light fashion show, or launch a rocket. Get involved in local and global issues in our “Maker a Difference” corner.
For students of all ages, breakout “Edspace” sessions in the adjacent Toms River High School North will allow the curious to discuss any topic in greater depth. Learn more at trschools.com
