On June 26, 2017, the Protectors of Freedom monument was unveiled in Bey Lea Park, Toms River. The sculptures, created by Brian Hanlon, reflect every conflict from 1917 to today. With figures representing World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam and the Middle East, this exceptional work will touch the hearts and souls of multiple generations.

On April 7, 2016 at 6:30PM, the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission, in conjunction with Ocean County College and the Jay & Linda Grunin Foundation, will present the sixth annual Salute to Ocean County: A Celebration of Arts and Heritage.
On Tuesday, March 1, 2016, the Elevate Toms River Principals’ Innovation Challenge was launched. Every Toms River Regional principal will have the opportunity to apply for a grant to be used for a program that will advance innovation in education.
