Engage Toms River has become such a successful program because we have true community collaboration in the collective leadership, time and commitment of the Community Art Project (CAP), Toms River Artists Community (TRAC), Business Improvement District (BID), Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library, Congressman MacArthur, Mayor Kelaher, and the Toms River Town Council.

But all that collaboration would have meant nothing without the incredible talent of our winner Elizabeth Paseler and the tenacious work of our Engage Toms River Curator, Yvonne Yaar.

The Engage Toms River Community Mural Project has seen thousands of Toms River’s citizens participate – from our 42 outstanding entrants to the voters, painters and countless volunteers who have given their time, talent and energy.

See you at the great unveiling, Harvest Festival, October 17th!

What Happens Next?

Right now, Yvonne Yaar and Elizabeth are working to recreate her work of art into paint by numbers.  By the end of May, we will be ready to open the doors to the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch to allow visitors to paint the mural. The finished work will be revealed at the Downtown Toms River Harvest Festival in October 2015.

To immortalize the great work of our community, we have employed The Production House to create a documentary and time lapse video of the work.  Get ready to be a star!

The Esteemed Jury

Juror Co-Chairs are made up of Toms River’s own internationally renowned artists, Danny Clinch, rock photographer; Brian Hanlon, official sculptor of the NBA.  The will lead the panel to choose the Top 3 Finalists.
